Invisible violence, digital humiliation, and absent parents show how quickly young people are left to fend for themselves.
The students at LBS Amstetten bring these experiences to life in three short, powerful films. Children’s rights are not a request. They are a promise.
Article 19: You have the right to protection so that you are not physically or emotionally mistreated, abused, or neglected.
Article 16: You have the right to privacy. No one may read your letters, search your room, or do anything similar without your permission. No one may humiliate or insult you.
Article 5: Your parents should help you understand your rights and ensure you can exercise them. They should take into account that your own abilities are still developing.
The film workshop was organized by the association “Die Schweigende Mehrheit.” It took place as part of “kreAKTIV” – Culture in Education Lower Austria, in cooperation between the association Jugend und Kultur and OeAD-GmbH, as part of the series “K3-PROJEKTE: Cultural Education with Apprentices,” and is funded by the Department of Schools and the Department of Culture of the State of Lower Austria. The program has been available since the 2012–2013 school year.
